Kate runs her tongue along the inside of her teeth. Magnus hasn't missed her. She's missed the girl she knew. Which is weird.
"He's good to you at home, too. Not the same way, but Will's Will." Will's grown, yeah, but he's still Will. Kate, sometimes she feels like a different person completely. It makes it hard to answer Magnus. She's not sure whether to paint on the happy face and lie, or tell her the truth.
"I hope you won't take this the wrong way, Magnus, but I'm not happy I'm here and I never will be. I'm glad that I can have your back, though."
