"That is precisely what I am saying," John said, glad that they had cleared that up. As long as he was able to recognize that she was merely doing her job and not necessarily making it completely personal, he supposed he could be begrudgingly grateful for it. He didn't like her, but he could respect her and perhaps give her the benefit of the doubt.
