"As I can see," Declan says, brow raised. "And what conclusion did you come to? Did he have anything to do with it?"

Declan's not sure if Druitt would have told or not, he seems contrite enough on the island if he's not completely reformed so he thinks he would, but he also thinks Druitt might go to Magnus first if something had happened.

Just a hunch, though, not anything concrete and what Declan wouldn't give for James Watson at the moment to suss it all out. He would get to the bottom of it, sooner or later.
