"You're being suspiciously calm." Kate frowns softly when unlacing her boot hurts more than it should. Her hand is kind of a mess. Since Declan's probably about to scream at her, she doesn't ask for his help.

"He's got scratches on his arm, her handkerchief covered in blood, and one of her earrings." Kate starts to shrug and decides against it. "But Archie won't hold him and Will and I couldn't get anything out of him."

It's not an answer, she knows. But she might not get a chance to explain if she doesn't get the words out. "By the time we fought, it was more because he's a smug sonuvabitch and he's making Will miserable than anything. And no. I don't think he did it."
