Phoebe aches to reach out and give comfort with an almost physical ache, but she doesn't. She knows that it wouldn't be appreciated and she also suspects that Kate might not notice. So lost in her whirl of emotions. Phoebe isn't sure that Kate will even hear her, but she speaks quietly anyway.

"Maybe you're being shown this from another reality, so that when you go back you can prevent it from happening in yours." The fact that people do go back is irrefutable, she's heard of people leaving and other versions or likeness arriving. So while some people could see this 'show' as just that, Phoebe views it as a type of 'vision'.
