"Huh," Kate said, pursing her lips thoughtfully. She never would have done something like that back home, she knew that. In general, she was pretty rooted in making money and getting her own place or getting out to see the world. Looking for things she couldn't explain had never been something she'd been good at. For the most part, she'd just rationalize even the craziest things.
"I guess you miss it, huh?" she asked. "I mean, it sounds like the sort of thing that you do because you like it."
