"You do help, babe." That's weird. 'Babe' sounds different now. Like it means him, specifically, not just something she says. She'd laugh at herself but it's not really funny.
She stops him, tugging on his hand and turns to face him. "You help a lot. And...if I say anything else I'm going to start sounding like a damned greeting card."
