Kate's mouth curves into a sharper smile. He may not be much to look at, but he listens well. She'll give him that. "Real theft is always about you have, I want," she says, like she told Steve. "Sometimes it's not as simple as you have money and I want it, or you have this item and I want money so I can steal that and sell it. Sometimes it's you stole a one of a kind piece from a secure museum and earned a reputation, I want the reputation. Sometimes it's you've made me suffer, now I want to make you suffer. Maybe giving the things back is my way of saying no one on the island has anything I want." She pauses and locks her gaze to his, driving the point in, even though it's no more the whole answer than the last. "Except to have back what's mine."
