As much as Phoebe wanted to comfort Kate, she didn't even make the slightest move toward her. She knew that she was unintentionally intruding on a scraped raw emotional roller coaster and the last thing that Kate needed was empathy. Or even worse, sympathy, so Phoebe didn't cross the imaginary line. Instead, she gave her quiet support and felt her own fingers curl tightly into the cushion of the chair. When the building exploded, a small hiss of breath escaped her lips despite her best efforts.
